Our work in Basingstoke

All In has worked in Basingstoke for many years - previously as the Women’s Equality Party - and we’ve had a big impact.

Since 2019 our growing group of volunteers, passionate about bringing equality to politics in Basingstoke, have been making change - both through local campaign work and running in local elections, then being elected to Borough Council in 2024.

Stacy Hart’s impact on Basingstoke and Deane borough council

Stacy Hart has represented Hatch Warren and Beggarwood ward since May 2024, when she was elected as the first ever Borough Councillor for the Women’s Equality Party.

Now as the Leader of All In, which was founded when WEP closed in December 2024, Stacy brings an equality angle to all of her Borough Council work.

Council motion on support for decriminalising abortion

Did you know that abortion isn’t legal in the UK? Abortion, for many, is life changing or life saving health care. Stacy used her maiden council speech to campaign on this issue, and successfully proposed a motion to Council to advocate for decriminalisation, and to initiate work to investigate what support might be required by Basingstoke and Deane residents who find themselves subject to criminal investigation or prosecution following pregnancy loss or abortion.

    Delivering on your local issues

Stacy delivers on casework for her residents – on everything from toilet facilities to abandoned properties, from parking to green space maintenance.

Upon her election she joined the Independent Forum, a non-partisan group of Councillors who work collaboratively and cross-party to deliver for residents, and who are - in coalition with the Liberal Democrats - currently running the Council administration. She’s also on the Residents’ Services Committee and the Licensing Committee, working for better Basingstoke services.

Being accountable to you, Basingstoke's residents

Stacy isn’t like other councillors - she’s committed to being visible and accountable to the voters. She hosts monthly Ask Me Anything Councillor Surgeries (check our socials for regular info on these!) and goes to local events to meet with residents and understand their issues.

Running events that connect our community

Stacy continues to run and volunteer at lunches, singing groups, coffee mornings, litter picks, community events and anywhere that might lend a hand or increase her connections with residents so she is always on hand for them.

Making our voices heard on services

Stacy continues to volunteer with the Camrose, Gillies, Hackwood and Beggarwood Patient Participation Group, helping out at local events and visiting patient assistance groups. She’s visited and built relationships with local schools to proactively support their brilliant work, and regularly meets local charities and volunteer groups to help them in working for the local community.

Opposing the 24-hour licence for McDonalds

Stacy helped galvanise residents against the 24-hour licence application for the new McDonalds in Hatch Warren Retail Park, and McDonalds withdrew their 24 hour licence application - meaning that the area will not become a hotspot for car meets all over again as a result.
